After an attempt to take twitter on board this election season , the parliamentary committee has decided to summon some more tech giant .
As elections are about to hit India and taking a lesson from the US elections on the impact of social media on elections the govt of India is in no mood to give a free hand to the social media , rather they have decided to tighten the noose around he neck of social media .
The failed attempt to summon the Twitter head had raised some eyebrows earlier , and some voices were also raised to even ban Twitter . Fortunately none such fanatic action happened .
But now the parliamentary committee has turned to Facebook , Instagram and Whatsapp to boost transparency ahead of the general elections . It is expected that these companies will launch some initiatives on the lines of initiatives being taken by Google India for journalists about fact checks before reporting .
